Overview

2HEAL (Toward Health Equity and Literacy) and Emory InMOTION (Emory Nursing’s Mobile Opportunities for Training and Innovating: Nursing) collected over 650 responses from RNs in Georgia on their learning needs around Social Determinants of Health (SDOH), the economic and social conditions that influence disparities in health status.

Based on their feedback, we have created a learning series of modules addressing eight SDOH topics and the practical ways nurses can recognize and address them in their practice.

Courses available in this program:

  • Bridging the Gap: Assessing and Addressing SDOH in Clinical Practice
  • Health Literacy
  • Civic Engagement as a Social Determinant of Health: Empowering Registered Nurses
  • Nursing Through a Changing Climate
  • Immigration as a Social Determinant of Health: Providing Culturally Competent Care
  • How to Provide Affirming Care to the LGBTQIA+ Community
