Overview
Description: Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) was identified by the World Health Organization in 2003. In early 2020, the Healthy People initiative added objectives specific to SDOH and adopted a definition of SDOH that is now used for all Health and Human Services agencies. This definition and key concepts about SDOH will be presented in this course.Â
Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to
- Describe Social Determinants of Health (SDOH)
- Identify the 5 domains of SDOH, based on Healthy People 2030
- List four Social Determinants of Health and their impacts on the US economy and the provision of healthcare
